We are DIN CERTCO recognized testing lab
After a thorough audit process by DIN CERTCO, and as a logical step of our efforts and development in this sector, DIN CERTCO acknowledged HYDRA Marine Sciences as the first testing laboratory for the new DIN CERTCO certification ‘biodegradable in marine environment’ (BIOLOGISCH ABBAUBAR IM MARINEN UMFELD) and ‘biodegradable in marine environment plus’ (BIOLOGISCH ABBAUBAR IM MARINEN UMFELD plus).
Testing according to international standards
The international Standard ISO 22403 is the basis of DIN CERTCO's certification scheme "Biodegradable in Marine Environment".
The following audit evidence is required:
• Chemical characterization (including heavy metal content)
• Test for intrinsic biodegradability in the marine environment
• Disintegration rate in the marine environment
• Marine ecotoxicity
• Infrared transmission spectrum
For DINplus additionally:
• Disintegration in a real marine environment
The tests are carried out in a testing laboratory recognized by DIN CERTCO. First, DIN CERTCO evaluates the material composition and determines the test scheme. If your product meets the above requirements, the corresponding certificate will be issued by DIN CERTCO and you may use the mark "DIN Geprüft - Biodegradable in the Marine Environment" and/or "DINplus- Biodegradable in the Marine Environment" for your product.
